Esaminate la struttura: legno massello (faggio o noce), giunzioni a tenone e mortasa, tracce di lavorazione manuale sotto la cintura. Un marchio di maestro falegname o una tappezzeria d'epoca coerente sono indicatori affidabili. Diffidate di viti moderne e pannelli in truciolato.

Quanto costa una poltrona antica da un antiquario?

I prezzi variano notevolmente: da 200–500 € per una poltrona di stile corrente dell'Ottocento a 5.000–20.000 € o più per una seduta marchiate da un ebanista rinomato o rivestita di un arazzo di Aubusson d'epoca. Stato di conservazione, provenienza e rarità sono determinanti.

Si può ritappezzare una poltrona antica senza svalutarla?

Sì, a condizione di affidare il lavoro a un tappezziere specializzato in sedute antiche, che rispetti le tecniche tradizionali — cinghie, crine, tela di juta — e scelga un tessuto coerente con il periodo. Un restauro ben documentato può addirittura valorizzare il pezzo.

Quali stili di poltrone antiche sono più ricercati?

Le poltrone Luigi XV e Luigi XVI marchiate, le bergère d'epoca settecentesca, le poltrone club in pelle degli anni 1920–1940 e le sedute Art Déco firmate sono tra le più ambite. I pezzi in noce intagliato con tappezzeria originale suscitano una domanda particolarmente sostenuta.
